Cookies and browser storage

No cookies

The site sets no cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones. There are no session, analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google tag, no traffic analysis of any kind.

That is why you see no cookie banner: with no cookies and no tracking there is nothing to consent to. A banner would only appear if we added tools that are not here today, and this page would change accordingly.

Why it is not a cookie

Your appearance preference is kept in the browser's local storage, not in a cookie. The difference matters: a cookie is attached to every request and therefore reaches the server, whereas local storage stays on your device and never leaves it. We do not know which theme you picked.

It is in any case a preference you expressed yourself, technically necessary to provide the service in the way you asked for: no prior consent is required. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings, under site data.

The neighbourhood map

The “Bari and around” section contains an interactive map. The images it is made of come from OpenStreetMap's servers, which is an external party: loading them means disclosing your IP address to that party.

That is why the map does not start on its own. Until you press the button that activates it, the site contacts no external domain at all — not one. If you never open it, your visit stays entirely between you and our server.

Once you do open it, the OpenStreetMap Foundation's terms and privacy policy apply.

Typefaces

The fonts used on these pages are copied onto our own server and served from there. They are not requested from Google Fonts or any other external service: opening the site does not disclose your IP address to any font provider.
